1 year of learning a skill usually leaves you at like novice level, which (at least for me) usually feels pretty unfulfilling

i'd recommend some sort of project

lmao

like why even ask if you're gonna be "unmotivated" for something, tho
we get you have time to waste but why waste our time trying to think of things for you to do if you're too unmotivated to do anything that might genuinely take up a large amount of time as you need?

When it comes to learning to play the guitar, don't give up. It's going to seem like an impossible feat at first but it becomes a lot easier. The hardest bit by far is developing muscle memory and finger strength. Once you get to where you can flawlessly transition 4 or 5 simple chords the rest starts coming much quicker.

a project is greatly different that things that have already been suggested

a project would suggest something thatll last the entire year and that's wayy too largely scaled for my depressed self to stay motivated for

i mean well that really depends on the project size doesn't it, it's a broad term, but i guess i get what you mean
